Billionaires’ Bunker. A Spanish “Thriller” (their words, not mine) Rich people have paid millions/billions of dollars to have space in an enormous nuclear bunker city if something were to happen. And well of course, something does.
Totally against my usual, but there is going to be 100% spoilers here as there is no getting around them, and frankly, you would be better suited to just read a synopsis than suffer through 8 episodes of this.
When the splash page hit my Netflix I thought Billionaires Bunker looked like it was going to be a great show being made by those who made Money Heist.
The premise and trailers clicked. And for the first episode which was getting everything set up, things were all pointing in the right direction.
We get shown that the world is seemingly teetering on the brink of a nuclear strike. But a group of crazily rich families have built an underground bunker system, or more like an underground city to escape to if something should happen.
But we find that two of these families have issues between them as in the past. Namely, one family member years before has killed a member of the other family. And before things even get going, you know shit is gonna hit the fan.
Skip ahead to where the news is that the attack did happen and all these people who paid their way in are now secluded and sealed away in the bunker for safety. We quickly learn that they also paid an outside company to more or less run and be security to this underground city. Hmm. More foreshadowing.
Up until this point things are still feeling pretty good with the show. We find out this outside company is really faking the whole nuclear blast, and are actively stealing all of these billionaire’s monies while they are tucked away down in the bunker not having any clue to anything going on topside.
Then everything changes, the entire direction of the story turns completely irrelevant, mostly unamusing character interactions for no reason but to fill time. Lots of time.
I think if you trimmed down just the relevant material over the whole 8 episode series, you might get one 30 minute episode in total.

But what you really get over the entire series, is complete garbage that starts and ends EXACTLY where you instantly knew it would.
As to why I stuck around for the entire thing? You know,,, I don’t know. But I can tell you this, from the dialogue lines, camera angles, characters looks and actions, subplot scenarios and horrendous acting.. This is 100% a live action anime series. It’s really hard to see it any other way. Plus, in all, the characters and plot itself were interesting. They just didn’t pull it off.
While I know it’s always far better to see something and make your own decision, I very much recommend just hitting skip on this whole damn thing. I’m pretty sure just by my descriptions here you have figured out the entire plot including “twists” and ending already any way.
Billionaires’ Bunker is so far out in the lead for worst thing I’ve watched in 2026 I don’t expect anything worse for a long time.
Note: I had actually written this back in January, but I decided not to send it because of how bad I thought it was.
But I noticed it in drafts,, and went back for a quick peek to see if maybe my initial thoughts have changed. Um nope. Dislike
