Werewolf by Night Quick Shot

I turned on Disney+ this morning and right up top was an ad for “Werewolf by Night” by Marvel Studios.

As always, I try not to spoil,, but your mileage may vary.

Billed as a Marvel Special Presentation. Werewolf by Night is a short one off (so far) hour long black and white Halloween special.

The main cast consists of six (8 I guess would be more true) current and brand new Marvel characters who are in fact monster hunters that have been summoned together for a sort of last will and testament of one of their own.
At this gathering, the great Bloodstone is offered up as a prize for a pre-arranged winner to take all, monster in a maze hunt. Whoever manages to kill the chosen monster and survives, gets to claim the Bloodstone weapon gem for their own.
And this is where the fun kicks off.
The black and white format was a nice touch. They even throw in some old film damage now and then for some of that old timey flavor.
Since the run time of this whole thing is under an hour, there is no screwing around. But in this short time we get a decent set up, a good plot, quite a bit of character building, fight action, major plot twists, revenge, and even redemption… and nothing feels rushed whatsoever..

I was pleasantly surprised to say the least, as I watched it three times already. Now I will say that no one else in my house has not watched it based solely on its black and white style. But don’t let that turn you off,, this is a great flick. I can’t wait for more of these Special Presentations.
If they all got the same amount of attention, they could drop in anywhere in the marvel universe and utilize some of the multitudes of characters that have not seen the “light of day” in eons.
Keep it up!
