Lower Decks. Evolution?

Star Trek Lower Decks has now been on our screens for 3 seasons. I’m pretty sure that is more than a lot of people thought they would.

When I first watched the first few episodes of season one, I wasnt even sure I could finish the season.

The writing felt like a couple of failing high schoolers put up to a dare. But I was able to look beyond the fanboy call backs and gimic references and see that… Hey! There is a bit of story here.

And from that point on, Lower Decks seemed to be taking notes on what the Orville was doing. The show was evolving the way that it was presenting its self to the viewer.

When season two hit, the writing was rolling along much more solidly, with much less emphasis on cramming in all the call backs in. And suddenly the appeal of the show sky rockets and genuinely starting to feel just a bit different. In a good way.

Now we are in the middle of season 3, and the show has taken even further of a turn towards being taken (at least a bit more) seriously. Doing so, I think puts it up on par with the rest of the previous Trek series.

Yes I liked watching Lower Decks before, but now, this past week especially, I found myself looking forward to seeing where the Cerritos was going next.

Oh there still is jokes and humor and all that, but it feels more natural now and flows more with the situations.

Still has the easter eggs and still pulls a lot from all of trek from before it. But it is certainly a much different, much more all around relatable show.

If the first season wasnt your thing, jump into season 3 and see how each and every character has evolved. I do think its worth your time.
