Well people, I am back here at Wearing of the Cloth as Forever has finally dropped. So how did the release go and what did I think?

If you have been keeping up with any of my latest WoW Forever postings, you have heard me being extremely skeptical of how not only the launch, but how the game in general was going to go.

But I survived launch, and after the first day, I think I will have to change my tune a little. In fact, Aye Carumba Mademoiselle, I had a blast!

No queues whatsoever. Just log right in. No fighting throngs of players stealing mobs, no waiting around for spawns. None of my expected chaos at all.

Launch time was for me was supposed to be 5pm, I log in at 5:15 fully ready to sit in queue for an hour, but nope, launched right into Dethknell as a Mage. And let me say that right from the Undead monolog opening I felt like I went back in time.

Took a few minutes to get the onboard things up to speed as I did not do any Beta running so I had to set up bars and keybinds and all the usual UI stuff. And now that Retail WoW has me running nearly all Blizzard features, the set was pretty quick.

So off I went. Grab all the quests I can find and start working my way towards Brill and Undercity. It is amazing how after not being in either place in about 2 decades, that you can remember exactly where they are and how to get there. I actually made it down to, and up from Undercity on first try completely through muscle memory!Things look exactly the same, and not the same all at once. The graphic updates are a perfect blend of keeping things right, but better. I caught myself more than a few times just looking around to see how the new lighting works.

As far as the gameplay of Forever goes, It again feels classic but with subtle improvements so it feels much more fluid. But it definitely keeps the original feel to everything. The new added features and mechanics are woven in so well, its hard to tell if things were new or actually in the original.

I have not had much playtime so far, but I can say that my first impressions are about 1000x better than what I had going in. I think I am going to like this. I am going to work on getting some silvers and get my professions set up first. Then I’ll report back.
