Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League

When I seen this title hit my feed on MAX, HBO or whatever it is today, I laughed a little. It looked like this was just a Batman rip off wrapped in a pseudo Anime format. But, I gave it a click. When that Warner Bros. logo popped up, I got a glimmer of hope. And immediately was hooked in.

Batman Ninja vs Yakuza league   Warner Bros. 2025 Directed by Mizusaki and Takagi. Second movie in the Batman Ninja “series” I did NOT see the first movie of this series. In fact I did not know there was one until I was looking closer at this one. It might be helpful, but I had no problems jumping right in without it.

Hey, maybe a quick rundown to set the mood here… Caught in an alternate reality where the Justice league are now members of the Yakuza and have taken over the world and are invading Gotham which is currently trapped floating adrift in a time anomaly.  Only members of the Bat-Family, Eagle Goddess (AKA, Wonder Woman) and oddly, Harly Quinn realize what is happening.

Even if you were going to start questioning what all that meant, you wouldn’t have time, because this thing lights a fuse and the action just keeps coming. The story sounds a bit clunky on the outside, but the way they pull this off is just fantastic.

All of the Justice League are now Yakuza and are transformed into their Anime style counter parts in name and in action

Emerald Ray-Green lantern

Aqua Dragon-Aquaman

Fleet of Foot-The Flash

Man of Steel- well guess who.

Meanwhile The Bats, Robin, Nightwing, Redhood, Harley and Goddess are, for different reasons, trying to stop the Yakuza from invading and conquering Gotham

Oh this show was sooo good. Taking multiple Anime staple situations, dialogs, and other tropes and seamlessly weaving in the DC verse. I specifically remember saying out loud to myself “this is great!” And “I hope they…..” and minutes later, they do!

The plot, which I barely touched, is deep, layered, and has good direction. The voice acting is top notch, animation is fantastic and I think will satisfy both Anime and Western animation fans.

It really packs a ton of content into its 1:29:00 run. And so much going is on that I have now watched this 3x and I’m still seeing new things happen.

I was 100% shocked at how good this was from so many angles.  I have to put this as a “must watch” for Batman fans, DC fans, Anime/animation fans alike. Batman Ninja vs Yakusa League.
