I seen the movie Brick enter the top 10 on the Netflix weekly list. Never heard of it, but it looked ok. Lets watch this.
Brick. A 2025 Netflix movie directed by Philip Koch, starring Mathias Schweighofer and Ruby O. Fee.
I guess its being called a Techno-Thriller set in Germany right now. I try not to use spoilers, but you just never know.

The quickest explanation of the set up is that overnight, a black brick wall completely ensloses an aprtment building in an everyday German city, trapping the occupance inside.
And as ambigious as that sounds, so it was in movie. With a real Cloverfield feel, the movie just launches in and goes. Trapped people doing panicked things trying to find a way past the black wall that no one, including us, knows anything about.
Of course there is tension, blaming, mistrust with the various tenants, the fact that they start to find murdered people in the building doesnt help.
And thats where I’m gonna have to leave the discussion, because, you know…. Spoilers.
At first I was unsure how I felt about this movie. It had no set up really, just a very quick look at the two main characters Tim and Olivia and where they were. Very little info as to the wall or where it came from or why it deployed.
But I have to use Cloverfield again as to the whole feel of this. Its like you get dropped into the middle of a much larger story, but you have little info on that story, and are watching it from distance.
Predictable? Sorta. Thrilling, as classified? Sure. Did I like it? I have to say yes. I think more so because of the format. Not having an hour long set up, having a clear direction, having an ending that could be either a set up for something much bigger or one that could be a text book scifi ending.
So stop reading this or looking at trailers or reading spoilers. Just go watch Brick.. on Netflix.
