I have been away from the games for a bit. Not for any particular reason, I just took a break. But I have rejoined ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) just in time for the newest chapter,, I mean “Season Pass”… The Seasons of the Worm Cult
The ESO MMO has always had the most steady content releases of any of the main games out there. Yearly “Chapters” or expansions if you will, and quarterly, but completely optional, follow up DLC. Pretty standard stuff really. New questlines, new dungeons and trials.
This time they decided to go with what they are calling a season pass where all of the normal yearly chapter stuff AND the DLC are purchased all at once. This of course makes the DLC purchases non optional now.
For me, that’s fine. I would have been buying all of it anyway. But wow did this get backlash. Making people pay upfront for anything nowadays is always met with opposition. So they better not mess this up, or it’s gonna get ugly..er.
But anyway, after my brief hiatus I have jumped back in with both feet. Grabbed the pass, the ESO+ sub and took off to the new island zone, Solstice, where the new questline starts.
This is just a fantastic looking area. I have been doing more looking around and doing side quests than the actual main quests, but that’s pretty normal for me I guess.
Oh and the pass is not just the new zone and questing, the game added in subclassing. You can now run skill lines of other classes. This has been a wanted feature for almost ever, and is now up and running.
I however have not looked into the subclass stuff as of yet. I like my Templar just as it is.. But I know I’ll be in there eventually.
I’m two weeks into the Seasons of the Worm Cult so far and everything is great here in Tamriel as always. Nothing crazy or unexpected. Just more ESO content added to the unbelievable amount already there. Plus there is a ton of Argonian interaction. (They have the funniest dialogs)
We will see how this pass thingy works out soon enough, but for now I’m good with it.
