Mid season reports

Doing a quick mid season/last minute though episode today.
Last of Us and Andor are on the clock.

Coming into the second season of The Last of Us, I was pretty excited. With season one ending on a pretty good note, and such a long span in between, expectations were high.

I guess today’s template of show running sets one up for a slower, recap heavy beginning, but then charge back in and get to the meat of the story

Well we got the slow recap. Then a bunch of nothing. I mean most of us knew about… the incident that happened, so everything else kinda just skipped by with little affect.

And I’m not sure what happened over the break, but everyone musta forgot to practice thier acting. It is a very hard watch this season. Everything is forced and fake.

And worse yet is the pacing. The last few episodes have just been on for background noise until maybe the last 10 minutes. Nothing else matters. Nothing but time filler.

This season really has disappointed me, and I don’t see it picking up for the last episodes.

But then we get to season 2 of Andor. Wow, what a series this is. Drama, action, mystery. It has everything. And there is no wasted screen time.

Several side arcs branch out and come together in a pretty quick paced format of 3 episode weekly drops in succeeding years.

The acting, the screen shots, the story is some of, if not the best Star Wars material ever.

This really is the best show on TV in years. But it concludes tonight! And I’ll be there for it.
