Twisters. A 2024 action/thriller from Universal/Warner Bros. Starting Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glenn Powell

I went into this movie thinking that it was, or might be a part two of the 1996 Twister movie. It was not.. or at least it didn’t specifically go out of its way to reference only one or anything from it. 

However I think I do remember someone calling it a “sequel”. But there are a few reminders or nods to the original Twister.

It is of course about tornados and young group of researchers trying various, unorthodox method of studying them. 

Quickly there is a bit of tragety to set up some of the plot. And that is a general recoccourance in Twisters. Throwing out things that are glaringly there only to set up up something later on.

While being similar to the first go around, with greatly exaggerated number of tornadoes in a small area, that can cruise at top speed when needed and then slow to a complete stops over every local town, but ehh,  you kinda overlook that the first 4-5 times.

I wouldn’t say this felt like a sequel, nor did it feel like something new, it was just kind of there with the same vibe that movies had in the 90’s. Acting was fine, I guess.Or didn’t take me out of the zone anyway. 

Predictable is the word here as you knew what was going to happen in every scene a week before it happened,, but you know what? I liked it anyway. 

It no groundbreaking event or emotional rollercoaster, but that 90s vibe and no modern ajends was just enough for me.
