I have been debating on when to post about Starfield. The Bethesda game that was recently released.

A spaced themed, very open world, action rpg, Very much along the lines of Fallout and Skyrim.
When this was announced or hinted at years ago, I was pretty psyched about it, as it was being billed as.. well… Skyrim in space. And you know what? Thats pretty damn close to what this is.

Some of the best things about Bethesda games is that while there is always a superbly substantial main questline objective, the sheer amount of side quests and side activities and just plain things to do is far far beyond any other studio.
No matter what you are doing in game at any moment, in any place, just run 100 yards in any direction and you are almost garunteed to find something new to do. And while the main questline is great, it’s the side quests you find out in the wild are probably the greatest part of the game. I’m serious. You never know what they will be.
Are you a soldier? Or maybe a biologist, medic, trucker? There is a job and story path for you.

I have been doing a bit of the main questline and then branching off now and then to survey when a planet has to offer.
Ive set up mining outposts to make credits, I’ve stolen back a few ships from pirates, collected a crap load of guns and ammo.
I honestly have been playing almost every free moment Ive had and am constantly finding new things to scan, steal, eat, and craft.
And it is so refreshing to be back playing a purely single player game. I dont have to be worried that I cant find a group to accomplish a manditory point of the game. Its all on me.

There are at least 1000 planets to scour, and I dont think anyone knows how many moons and space docks or random ship encounters there are. And all of those have thier own self contained activities.
I am so addicted to this game..and I have really only just started. So far, Starfield is a solid 4.5/5.
