Time for another book review.
Of course I try not to spoil the fun, but you never know, so be cautious.

Dark Matter, by Blake Crouch. A Scifi “thriller” is what it was being billed as. 2016 and 342 pages.
I didn’t go looking for this one. It was one of those that the app recommened. I had no idea what it was about, I seen the Scifi and Thriller description and picked it up.
Set in or around today’s Chicago, Jason Desson is an every day science proffessor living his everyday life with wife and kids.
That is until he is forceablly drugged and kidnapped. Wakes up in Chicago, but not quite the same Chicago that he remembers. He finally realizes that a different version of himself has switched thier versions of reality.
It’s a.. can you be smarter than yourself sort of thing.
Right out of the gate this book sucked me in. There is action and mystery from start right to the finish. Blake Crouch’s writing really flows and paints the scenes perfectly. Neither rambling nor leap frogging.
I was kind of worried there for a second that this may be a timetravel, Looper kind of thing, but the book goes out of its way to make clear that it is not that at all.
Multiverse type things usually need you to take things with a huge grain of salt and maybe some mysticism, and sure there is a slight bit of that,, but because how focused and tight the writing is, it just never stayed in mind long enough to worry about it.
There were crucial choices that needed to be made multiple characters that make you stop and think about what you might do, or need to do at some point in our own reality.
I must say, that for a random pick,, I thoroughly enjoyed this book,, Dark Matter. And also enjoyed Blake Crouches style. So much so that I am going to take a peek around some of his other stuff.
I am going to recommend this one. Its fast paced, so its a quicker easy on the brain read. Go grab it here.
If you wanna read along,, the next book is also another that popped into my recommend list.. The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman.
