The Power of the Doctor

Last night I was able to catch the Power of the Doctor episode on the AMC+ app.

It was a Doctor Who one off, stand alone episode that (spoiler) has been pushing the 13th Doctor’s regeneration for quite some time. Thus ending Jodie Whittaker’s four year run.  And I think I am ok with that.

Just as nearly every Whittakers episodes, The Power of the Doctor was paced almost exactly the same. So many times we get a great story with lots of promise and lore building,, then the terrible cast of main cast of characters comes in and destroys all of that in a matter of seconds.

I was much relieved when that sorta of worked its self out very early in this episode.

Plus, we got a bit of its history back in quite a few forms. A few old companions, past Doctor forms, old enemies. The basic story premise its self was pretty solid. But there was of course a couple of well placed plot nukes.

They definitely pulled from its incredible past, both good and bad,, but in the end, things did wrap up nicely with Jodie’s version, while setting up something big, for the “next” Doctor.

All in all this is definitely a Whittaker style episode. If you were a fan of hers, then you will be right in with it.

If you didn’t care for how she or the show has been written like a last minute rush for the past few years, then grit your teeth because this one is much more of that.

I didnt mind this Doctor by herself, and I liked how it ended for her, but cannot wait for the next Doctor(s) adventures.
