I finally got a chance to check out the “new” Quantum Leap. I purposely have not dug into it much because I wanted to go in fresh.
But I was leary. Quantum Leap was a great show. A show that really did pull in a wide ranging audience. People who would never go out of thier way to watch scifi were drawn in. And reboots of shows like this never usually go well.
But it wasn’t very long into this first episode that we find out that this is not a reboot, or re-imagining, but a continuation of the show. Picking up 30ish years after when the original series left us.
While trying not to do any sort of indepth break down of the show (not yet anyway),, It was nice to hear and see what a little of what happened to Sam and Al,, and give a good set up for things leading up to and what may happen with this new series.
Things are a little cheesy at times, and maybe a bit of overacting here and there,, but things generally feel like a 30 year continuation of the Project. It does have some of the same feel,, but definitely pulled into 2022.
Only one episode in so far, but I am looking foreward to more, and generally excited to see how much more the first series is going to factor in. Quite the opposite of how I thought this was going to go.
So far I’ll go 8/10
