The new He-Man series just dropped yesterday, and I got a chance to watch episode one today.

I tried not looking to much into this so I could be surprised as everyone else.

First thing I see as we start out is it’s written by Kevin Smith. That immediately sent a wave of concern over me. But I thought for this show, it might be right up his alley.

And wow! The animation and looks of the show brought me right back to the 80s. Everything looks great, the characters act right, there is the same odd comedy bits going on. I am genuine relieved. I was worried this was going to be a mess.

Some where in the middle of that happy trip back I time, my brain realizes that the title is Masters of the Universe. Not,, HeMan and the Masters of the Universe like it used to be.

And then almost immediately I see what’s happening.

And it happens. I think we all know what.

And for a brief second… I was perfectly ok with that.

One second we are back in time reliving some of the best parts of time. Then in one big flash the 2020s and Kevin Smith come screaming into the picture and start fucking shit up.

This is only episode 1 out of 5. I think I see the writing on the wall already, and I’m not sure I wanna continue….
