Trying not to get into a full on review of Season 5 just yet, But I gotta say that this season feels completely different from the others. In a good way though.
This year the plot seem is more direct more focused than past seasons. Especially 1-3. Keeping grasp of the multi-threads was exhausting. You needed that whole week in between episodes to unravel, then reconnect everything that was going on in the different subplots. While never sure if the plot you were interested in was even gonna matter down the road.
So far this season there is still action happening in various locations, but they are moving in the same direction, or at least to a common point. Making it much less stressing.
The quality of writing has not suffered too much for this change of style. But there are a few glaring parts that were definity just added in to cover the lack of what would have been a separate plotline.
All in all though, not as bad as the majority of the other shows with 10ish episodes per season that continually manufacture plot points just because they don’t have time to explain them properly. I’m looking at you Discovery
At just over half way through this season, the tension is building, and I can’t wait to see how all of the points converge.
