There is so much going on in the scifi world, that it I’m starting to fall behind! But that is a great problem to have.

Anyway…The Mandalorian. Pretty sure everyone who has planned on watching it is now got at least a few of them under their belts. So there may be spoilers in here.

At this point in with 6 episodes out, It kind of feels like it slowed its progress. We had been moving the plot along quite briskly in the first couple of episodes and setting things up and there is no denying that each episode has been great and definitely has lots of fan favorite moments.

But we seem to be doing a bit of tapping the breaks. With only 8 episodes slated for this season, I don’t want many, or any, filler episodes.

While I have no problems with episodes like the last one, “The Prisoner”, really felt like it was just there to hold a spot open for something else to come, but took 41 minutes to do so. And the same with episode 4, “Sanctuary”. I hoping we find out we find out why any plot points there within were so important that they required 80 minutes to make them.

I really like how they are doing a lot of fan service, but really keeping it from being too glaring and up in your face. There are subtle hints, clues and “easter eggs” scattered nearly everywhere. Some of them feel like they will be hugely important in the plot and some just for fun. Both placed there in a non distracting way for those with keen eyes and memory can pick them out and string along some theories, but yet push newer viewers along as well.

Can’t wait to see how they tie in next weeks episode with The Rise of Skywalker, and how they are going to finish this season off. There is going to need to be some serious action or developments, so it should be good!
